somebody stole this from my art show in Bethel, CT!
I went to pick up pieces today and there was a blank space where this piece should have been. Label was still there, but the piece was missing.
It was on display at the train station, which is normally locked when unattended. This wasn’t a large piece, so I suspect someone tucked it under coat and walked off with it in front of people. If it was during rush hour, probably nobody noticed with the press of people.
I’d be mad about it, but I’m choosing to take it as a compliment, I’m good enough to steal!
It wasn’t that expensive a piece, so its not a big financial loss, I just would have preferred someone bought it instead of swiped it. The business that occupies space had taken reasonable precautions, so I'm not real mad at them. There's not really anything they could have done about someone that determined. Because of the hours that the place is locked vs unlocked, the person that swiped it probably had to take it to work with them. so it may be sitting in an office in NYC.
I’m just picturing some day down the road when I am Super Famous Artist (hahahaha, sure) that it will be an enduring mystery as to where one of my early works went. If nothing else, some harried art student can fill up a page or two in a paper about it!
