Fenris SMASH!

blood jaguar
DOH.
Car damage
Car damage

I cut the wheel wrong Saturday night when it was dark and rainy and hit the neighbor's car. His truck was taller than my Civic, so that's where I hit his metal bumper. The driver's side mirror broke his taillight.

DOH.
It was on private property, so didn't have to call cops, but did leave the info so he could get it repaired. That was $150 for the taillight, I haven't done anything to my car yet. We sort of hammered it back out, but still has the very large gouge in paint. The thing is almost 20 years old and has 150K+ miles on it, so it's unlikely I will sell it... so I am seriously considering "fixing" the paint job by painting a fake bandaid on and sealing it instead of getting a proper paint job. Just don't want it to rust.

Monday it was time for more SMASH!

Destruction project!
Destruction project!

The building was already falling over because a large tree fell on it in the Halloween storm in 2011. Not shown is me chainsawing my way across the backyard, getting rid of all the downed trees in the way so we could get TO the shed with a wagon and haul away debris. I filled part of the log rack with firewood and we filled a car with debris from the shed, mostly the plastic roof and tarpaper.

I hauled away most of the debris for Dad, but he handled trying to actually sawing apart most of it. I got to bash it with the sledgehammer a lot. and then we kept poking at it, trying to get it to fall over and it won't go over...

WHY WON'T THIS BUILDING FALL OVER!?!
Destruction project!
We cut all the studs on the back, why won't it fall over!?! There's two of us trying to push it over...

OH.
Destruction project!
Sterlite box was holding up the WHOLE BUILDING. so, any question about those plastic storage totes being strong, THEY'LL HOLD UP SMALL BUILDINGS!

Tuesday I redid part of garden at store which involved a lot of raking. and I went to put a new edge back in... and then determined perhaps I should have another adult help me move the giant ass log before I SMASHED something else. So the coffee roaster next door helped me move the big 12 foot log and drop it in a trench so I didn't end up hitting the car next to it or dropping it on myself. I had to dig the trench to drop it in, so I was out with the mattock, digging a trench.

So I spent the week alternately destroying and constructing things.

and of course after raking out the garden because the tulips were coming up, it is now faintly snowing.

Get some automotive paint and do it on your own. Maybe you could consult the pros in the same building with your business, see if they have random extra paint that you could buy for a small patch job. Or at least find out what brands to get.

it seems like if I don't give a shit about it having proper shiny finish, I can just use housepaint and polyeuthane over it.

I've been thinking of doing this to my entire vehicle- I just haven't yet worked up the courage to completely ruin it like I known I inevitably will.

If you can find "Flood Penetrol" you allegedly ought to use that in place of mineral spirits to discourage the possibility of "orange peel" texture should you fail to do everything perfectly. It's banned in CA though.

It's St Patrick's day, or the US' annual excuse to get REALLY, REALLY drunk, so I'm hiding inside all day. everybody else is in SMASH mode, so I'm staying well away from that mess.

I expect tomorrow's police blotter is going to be about 95% alcohol related.
